Saturday in the Making #12

No earth-shattering projects today: more chores that required another set of hands – for the Homesteaders not passing their afternoon in an end-of-semester physics exam, that is.

So, weve got;

✓ Upstairs woodpile  (for when the fire’s dimming but the movie has half an hour to go) replenished

✓ Tree lucerne trimmed and fed out to a very appreciative flock

✓ Square sheep chaff bucket, matching the goat’s for ease of stacking and lugging around, sourced and its puppy-Colin-mauled handle replaced

✓ Food stores topped up

✓ Fence sign (which possibly in disbelief at the idiocy on display in the world in general and the World Cup in particular threw itself off its anchor and broke in two) repaired

Now the student has returned, smiling and bearing takeaways for tea. I’d say, day is done.

  1. There’s been a lot of languishing here since a winter ailment took hold earlier this week. Chilli and Belle have been napping in solidarity with me today and over the past few days. Fingers crossed it will pass by Tuesday when there will be places to go, things to do and people to see – or not.

    • It’s been a tough fortnight with unscheduled town days, the demise of the washing machine, end-of-semester exams and the beginning of the real wintery weather. Takeaways, as we call them, seemed only fair

    • I’m so sad about the World Cup and the absolute idiocy that surrounds it. Of course we’ll be watching, football (never soccer in this house😊) is a shared homestead passion and our little country has made it through but seriously…
