I continue with the leaf gathering and vegetable garden mulching

but there’s still plenty to collect.

Some weeks are full steam ahead and sometimes the real world gets in the way.
This week, a day off Homestead was required to visit the Accountant because, contrary to the business plan we set up when The Resident Engineer started carving her own path, UnlocH has reached “that point” now. I’d be downright churlish to moan about that.
Something that did have me grumbling, however, was the washing machine finally gasping its last and all the time-gobbling wardrobe juggling, laundry hauling that entails. In all honesty, it is really rather unfair of me to bemoan it crossing the rainbow bridge as Murray the Repairman uncovered evidence of it rolling off the assembly line in June 2006. I call that a good innings.

So it’s hooray to new ventures and out with the old/ in with the new. Now that I’ve invested an afternoon installing my first ever properly new machine (every other one has been reconditioned secondhand) and testing my plumbing skills I’m looking forward to things getting back on track….once I’ve conquered Laundry Mountain, that is.

As unexciting as they are, washing machines, refrigerators and toilet cisterns and bowls are things we simply have to have. 20 years is a good run. Enjoy your new machine.
You’re so right and, as a family, we have limited wardrobes because we do laundry every day. Its been a bit of a struggle to be without a machine for nearly two weeks. Luckily, Casa Kimberley is near and they are sharing folk 😊
I would say that 20 years was a very good run for a washing machine as they do a lot of work when they’re being used. The secret of my longevity is definitely doing as little work as possible.
Ha! That doesn’t wash with me, Mr T 😂
