Slow Down Sunday – Winter Solstice

Lunch out with the whanau minus The Princess who is spending the weekend at a scent training event with Eli.. We try this place out every so often hoping it’s become as glorious as it deserves to be. Alas, another “okay” visit but the company: faultless!

Then home to hunker down by the fire, only moving to feed out.

It’s chilly out there.

  1. I marked the Winter Solstice a day early with a friend. We traveled to Newstead to lunch and visit the Art Hub at the old railway station to view an art exhibition by 3 local artists. We had a lovely chat with Belinda who I know and I purchased one of her drawings. All in all, a very satisfying way to mark what is usually a dreary few days of the year. Bring back the light I say!

  2. That’s a lovely view of the paddock, even if it’s chilly! Longest day here…and Fathers Day too, currently being celebrated with a long sleep in ๐Ÿ˜†. We haven’t gone to a restaurant for four years, though we get takeaways from time to time. My annual cryo treatment earns me take out pizza, and in summer, we get fries occasionally from a food truck run by a local veg farmer..best fries on the South Island, Vancouver Island that is ๐Ÿ˜†, and take them to the shore where we munch and watch the water, the people and the birds. Other than that, it’s just become too pricy.

  3. In spite of the cold, you are at the stage when everything is going to get better, and in spite of the lovely weather here, we are on the downhill slope to winter.
