Adventure 2025#6 – Universal Studios

Today we caught the bus to Sentosa Island and Universal Studios.

It started raining as the bus crossed the bridge but the planners amongst our party had plotted for that very event and the rest of us simply fell in and followed.

because some stuff is all weather and, besides, we’re not made of sugar.

Before long, the rain disappeared but the clouds obligingly remained. It was hot and humid but we didn’t bake as we spent the day swooping and spinning and shrieking…there was quite a lot of the latter

It’s nice to suspend reality sometimes

I think the stars were starting to twinkle as we rode the monorail back to the mainland; it’s hard to tell which twinkle is real and which is manufactured.

We finished our day at the massive VivoCity mall, first eating in the massive Food Republic foodhall, and then diving down into the mass of shops to add a couple of coveted items to The Farmers wardrobe before riding the bus to, nearly, the door of our accommodation.

Which was good.

We weren’t in the mood for any more walking.

  1. Wow! Another amazing day, chock full! We did the Jurassic ride at the Universal Studios in LA many many years ago – it was absolutely terrifying. Not the T Rex – I expected him. It was the 42 ft vertical drop down a waterfall….I am surprised to see Sesame Street there, and I’m curious what a Sesame St ride would be like. FG must be far too young to have any idea of Grover, Big Bird, Elmo etc. I am the opposite – too old, but SS was a staple of my much younger brother’s TV watching.

    • The biggest scare for me was Battlestar Galactica Human – sooo fast. Sesame Street was dearly loved by The Engineer and Farmer but had disappeared to a channel we didn’t have access to for FG but she loved The Monster at the End of this Book. I was surprised to see it there…I thought it was PBS…but Grover’s Spaghetti Space Chase was lovely. We did it twice 😁
