So much rain today! Now everything is dripping, soggy, and slushy. Snow is on the mountains. Most of the day you couldn’t see it but it definitely made its presence felt.
In the afternoon, the sun started making attempts to behave in a way befitting the season but it was half hearted at best.
Then, all of a sudden as we ate dinner, like a light switching on, the sun came out for real.
Babette hot-footed it outside to make the most of it. Who knows how long it will stick around for.

Cold and snowy here, but the days are getting longer. Spring is coming!
And our days are definitely getting shorter. It’s been an odd summer for us but Im still not quite ready to say goodbye to it
I am in no hurry to greet winter. I will enjoy the mild, autumnal temperatures first. The tomatoes are ripening and I am harvesting cobs of corn.
We’ve had a terrible season for both tomatoes and corn here. Im hoping they’ll come in a late flourish but Im not holding my breath
