Apologies for our silence of late; we’ve all been felled by a motley collection of bugs that has had us coughing, spluttering, huffing and puffing, and/or limping. It’s been a case of hauling up the drawbridge and stoking up the fire but some news just needs to be shared.
Today Sapphire, The Farmer’s hand-reared sheep who still suspects he may be her mummy, became a mummy again herself.

Watched over by last year’s baby, Emerald, baby Pearl makes her entrance
Then, twenty minutes later, The Farmer’s cup runneth over

with the arrival of Jasper.
Mother and babies fine, big sister not convinced this latest event will not impact on her standing at the feedbowl.
Congratulations. How adorable!
Very cute indeed😊
Congratulations all round. Sorry about the winter ills.
This winter has dealt out some harsh bugs. One theory is that temperatures have not dropped enough to zap them all. It’s certainly been a mild winter so far…maybe there’s sonething in it ☺
When I lived in Auckland we always used to say that the weather wasn’t cold enough to kill the winter bugs.
Your ownership of sheep completely passed me by – how lovely though to have not one but two lambs.
It’s really a pseudo ownership…They reside at The Farmers place of employment but they are still Homesteaders nonetheless 😀
They look lovely… do you get wool from them?
Not to date but it is definitely on the wish list…that and the ability to use the spinning wheel that has so far just served an ornamental purpose 🙂
Congratulations to the Farmer and to Sapphire! Sorry to hear you haven’t been well this winter; I hope you are all recovering well.
Thank you 🙂 We’re all feeling a lot better but these bugs are very persistent!
Congratulations!!! so incredibly sweet!!! xo Johanna
This is a slightly different take on “a boy and his dog” 🙂
;o)
Congratulations!
The Farmer is very happy; I quietly wonder about our freezer but understand this is not the time to raise that 🙂
I really like your writing style and that picture of the lamb staring at the camera is perfection! Congratulations!
Thank you!
Hi, Are those lambs wearing jumpers to keep them warm?
Yes they are 🙂 You would have thought their little woolly coats would be enough, but the indulgent Farmer was taking no risks and both Pearl and Jasper continue to thrive.
