In the gardens, there’s a few signs that Spring may not be too far away

In the paddocks there are, too

Every evening I wonder whether Buttercup’s lamb/s will be here i greet me at morning chores.
Maybe tomorrow’s the day.

I love these early signs, they bring such hope. For us, snowdrops come first, bu snow is still possible. Dad’s are a more certain harbinger.
Im not silly enough to think winter’s done and dusted but it gave me a teeny spark of joy 😊
Such a joyful time of year!
Promise, pure and simple
A promising looking daffodil.
They’re all looking quite healthy. Last year’s daffs were a motley collection
The early bulbs have been flowering here for a while. They are welcome on a dull, grey winter’s day. Whilst I was admiring Buttercup, the sheep manure littering the paddock caught my attention. Do you collect any to compost for the vegetable garden?
We compost it, its a main ingredient of our liquid compost and we also, once the sheep move paddocks, harrow it to break it down a bit so it helps the paddock condition too
