It was unseasonably warm, today; worryingly so. Twe.nty degrees Celsius if you believe the homestead weather station and I have no reason to doubt it. But those who have been round for while know that weather this mild in August can only mean one thing.
The sheep know it’s too good to last.

Sure enough, tomorrow’s forecast is for sleet showers.
Luckily the sheep were clever enough to make the most of the sunshine.

That’s quite a contrast—hot weather one day, sleet the next. Everything is tipsy-turkey. ( I originally wrote “topsy-turvy” and it was autocorrected to “tipsy-turkey.” Made me giggle so much that I decided to leave it. But I did think a note of explanation was in order.)
I llke tipsy-turkey. It sums up modern life very well.
Sure does! I might add it to my collection of descriptions.
I think tipsy-turkey is utterly appropriate. No sleet, or even rain, as yet but the wind is straight from the South Pole
Yikes! I think I will continue using tipsy-turkey. 😉
It is difficult for humans and animals alike to cope with such sudden variations in temperature.
I think the animals at our place are doing a much better job at the moment. They’re all hunkered down hiding away from the bitter wind. There’s only one idiot wandering around in it 😂
