Farm Girl has spent this term looking at social, cultural, and economic rights, roles and responsibilities with the emphasis on families around the world. Laura Ingalls, Hinemoa and Tutanekai, and Psyche and Eros were all compared to her own situation but the best fun as far as Farm Girl was concerned was studying Greek culture with the aid of the internet, the library, and that undeniable authority on the modern Greek family: My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
Along the way, a Homestead Greek Night was proposed and Farm Girl started planning. The invitations were sent, the menu decided, the entertainment sourced, and the decorations constructed.
Of course, it was to be a dress-up event.
Afterwards Poseidon, a Senator, and Demis Roussos joined traditional Grecian (ancient and modern) in a youtube guided sirtaki lesson and danced off the baklava, spanakopita, and meat-heavy feast (and ouzo chaser).
Greek Night on the Homestead; a definite excellence for Farm Girl. Opa!

I love the beard! Makes me think I ought to cultivate my burgeoning facial hair too. I also love ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’ as my girls know ( I cite examples of woman-power from it regularly). Looks like you had a fabulous time!
