The Homestead rain gauge tells us that just over 30 mm (1.18 inches) of precipitation fell on our little patch of earth in the previous 24 hours. It’s been a long summer but I think we can now call it quits.
I heard down in Southland they got a ton more – like 110 mm or something. Well you all needed it for sure. And you can never please all the people all the time anyway, so it must just be the ducks turn.
Things were getting pretty dry and we had been reduced to using tap water for the outside chores; the rain was well overdue. With the ducks so joyous at the mudbath the backyard had become overnight, it was difficult to remain despondent for long 🙂
Goodness me, I hope you and the house are OK, glad the ducks are enjoying it.
We’re all fine, the water tanks are brimming again and the crops remain in the ground. 🙂

Yes, ‘weather for ducks’ as they say! I’m pleased for you that you now have enough water but not too much.
Our cup, and our water tank, is definitely half full 🙂
Yay! 🙂
Ah well, It never rains but it pours.
