Sage Words Sunday – Happiness, Hector Style

Homestead happiness was uppermost on all our minds this week; we’re sick of wallowing.

So, when we spotted the movie Hector and the Search for Happiness playing on Sky movies we thought it worth a watch, although we weren’t really expecting that much. In fact, it turned out to be a nice little hunk of escapism and just what the doctor ordered. Central to the plot are a plethora of quotes Hector gathers from various unlikely places, all around the theme of happiness.

Today, to go with baked cheesecake and a purpose-made soundtrack, The Renovator chose one of them:

Lacking for nothing. We’re not talking material stuff here, it’s all about one person’s strength balancing another’s weakness, a bunch of people with whom you can be 100% real, safety in numbers, and unconditional love.

Yep, soppy to the core – and happy, too!

  1. Timely quote for this household too, where we haven’t a week like yours was last week, but where we’ve had some moments to be grateful for each other.
And I love the photo – how long did it take before the goats ate the frame?

  2. What a comfortable, comforting post! Soppy is fine by me. The film sounds like something we might like to watch and I enjoyed quite a lot of the soundtrack too. Have a good week!
