I don’t often buy plants, preferring to procure, pilfer, and/or propagate at will, but that space was crying out for somethjng special and, since I’d managed, through neglect mainly, to snuff out my sad little excuse for a bay tree I thought Id splash out.

There it is; proper culinary bay Laurus Nobilis (I’d always suspected my previous one of being a look-alike interloper).
You don’t realise how often you use a herb until you no longer have it. Our soups and casseroles will once again contain that magical oomph and I will, no doubt, once again forget to fish them out before serving. And, as a bonus, should Lando Norris happen to pop past the Homestead anytime soon, I would willingly sacrifice enough to fashion him a winners wreath seeing as how this practice seems to have gone out of fashion.

Perhaps you could have a bay wreath of the week for the most deserving member of your family.
Now there’s an idea…and a podium!
I would like to see Olympic athletes showing off their medals and bay wreaths.
