Saturday in the Making #8

It’s been a bit of a week of it; long off-Homestead work hours for The Bean Counter, end of topic tests for Farm Girl, new-business concerns for our Resident Engineer, and lots of muscle-workout jobs for me. We’re all tired but, hip hip hooray, The Bean Counter has next week off so we soft-pedalled this week’s Saturday in the Making but still we managed to:

✓ knock off some more shelterbelt clearing; 8 fence posts down, 3 to go

✓replace the broken vegetable garden sprinkler

✓chop a week’s worth of firewood

✓study for an upcoming chemistry test

✓complete another slice of the south side garden; only one more to go

✓get another days worth of walnuts into the freezer

✓undertake some sitting at the computer stuff including finishing the new businesses website for one of us and doing some pretty involved sums relating to GST (goods and service tax) which made my head hurt

Hope your Saturday was a winner, however you chose to spent it.

  1. we have had a relatively quiet day here. Trimmed some of the trees on the boundary to help neighbourhood relations and booked some special birthday flights to Darwin in August 😀

  2. Yay for the Bean Counter….finally! Saturday here was not nearly so productive. Slow coffee and chat with my husband as he caught me up on what’s going on in the world (I’m fasting from news online till Easter), then 2 friends of many years came for tea and chat the afternoon away. Laundry. Bills and paperwork (tax time is approaching in Canada), a fun”breakfast for dinner”. Others in the family got stuff done though like groceries and lawn mowing…first mowing of the season!

    • Fasting from online news has got to be good for you! I know for sure that slow coffee chats and tea with friends is! Hooray for the first lawn mowing of the season…. summer’s on its way
