While not a record-breaker, the walnut tree is doing it’s thing which means, if we want a future including pesto and dukkah and proper what I grew up calling afghan biscuits but have been renamed milk chocolate roughs, the nuts need to be picked up, shelled, and tucked away in the freezer. Not my favourite job
But little by little every day, as the saying goes, a little becomes a lot and I am very partial to homemade walnut dukkah.

What a lot of work! But how wonderful to get fresh walnuts. I had to look up dukkah. Never heard of it before. Sounds delicious.
It was a great day when we discovered how easy dukkah was to make at home
