The shelterbelt tidy up is a work in levels. Number one, top priority is the road frontage. That happened as I slept away my demons over the weekend so it’s only fair I take on the inside clean up.
While the dogs played in the paddock, I took my first bite at it. Two fence posts down, nine to go.

It’s getting there slowly
It is good to do a big job like that in increments. It makes you feel you are getting somewhere even when there is some way still to go.
I don’t think I can do jobs like that in one shot anymore. Certainly if I want to walk the following day!

Chipping away is the right phrase 😀. My eldest married I to a family that includes a tree service guy among the siblings…it all gets done for us, and we know EXACTLY how fortunate we are!
I’ve always said an electrician would be a great addition to the family (no pressure 😂) but a tree guy! Fortunate in the extreme!
Haha…we are more fortunate than you know…2 electricians, a plumber, 2 welders, and a nurse. Son in law himself is a computer network tech with a background in construction. He has a lot of siblings 😀

What will you be doing with the prunings?
It’s a Cypress (cupressus) shelterbelt so not really that appealing to the menagerie but, as we have room, we use it to level up dips in the paddock. The sheep love playing “king of the castle” on it helping it to break down faster, too.
