Saturday in the Making #6

I fell utterly apart this morning. Too tired, too sore and a bit sad, too. In my defence, after a week of teeth-gritted sprinting-to-the-finishline (aka The Bean Counter not having to work late Friday night or the Sunday graveyard, Farm Girl nailing her first Chemistry Lab, and The Engineer finishing her last week of work-with+a-paycheck all being celebrated with a meal of baked macaroni cheese and garlic bread washed down by vat of pinot gris) the finishline was unceremoniously moved and I didn’t handle it well. Yep, The Bean Counter finished at 10pm on Friday and, for the third time in a row, will work all night Sunday.

The family decided it best I retire to my boudoir for the day but that didn’t stop the work progressing. This week Saturday in the Making they;;

✓ dealt with the sad job of burying two menagerie members, a chicken and a lamb. We’re still not sure what happened in the sheep paddock overnight.

✓ cleaned up the shelterbelt trimmings

After a lot of sleep and a fish and chip dinner, I’m back on track. Hope your Saturday was a little more dignified than mine.

  1. Saturday here was actually not raining, so we walked/rolled to the village to get a few things from the grocery store. Watched some of the Paralympics(Canada got three medals today!) and read a few chapters of a good book. Huge stew in the crock pot and husband tried his hand at making scones, with great success. An episode of My Life is Murder, and a few pieces in the current jigsaw. Seems like a wasteful day in some ways, but it was a needed rest.
