Adventures have a way of helping you sort stuff out; they do with us anyway. I think it has a lot to do with having the time on hand to percolate and the people you trust around to help process those percolations.

Among the stuff we sorted was The Engineer starting her lunch break, which she comes home for, taking a stroll around the paddocks. Working inside, in an artificially regulated temperature, sitting all day at a desk, is not ideal for us humans. We need to feel the breeze in our hair, the sun on our backs, even the rain trickling in through that weak spot in our jacket or the barley grass harpooning our feet through the holes in our farm crocs.

And if you slow down and look, there’s always something to make you smile…like the nonchalant way Meredith dangles her hoof off the platform or how it looks like 2026 will be the year we finally manage to have an echinacea bloom.

Keeping grounded. Its under-rated.

Yes, there’s a lot to be said for taking the time to notice the little things – taking the time to put things in perspective.
It’s such a simple thing and so good for you but also very easy to let slide in the hurly burly of living
And oh so important, especially for those who work indoors all day.
Definitely!
Exceptionally cool goats!
The fresh idea is definitely good.
It is providing the midday reality check she was after – life definitely has good stuff.
