Adventure 2025#12 – Dreamworld

Today we explored Dreamworld, Australia’s Biggest Theme Park. Maybe that’s why we liked it more – it being bigger, I mean. More personal space, less elbows to the head.

They say travel broadens the mind. I’ve certainly learnt a bit about myself and my appreciation of well mown lawns, neatly trimmed hedges and fresh paint when it comes to attractions that edge onto the pricey side of the spectrum. I’m not sure I like this revelation but big tick, Dreamworld.

One of our number was a little crest-fallen to discover, on entry, his favourite ride was closed for the day. Thankfully, the Steel Taipan got its act together later in the day.

It’s a gentler place attracting a younger, family type crowd you’d expect at the Home of The Wiggles.

and has the coolest chair-o-plane

but it has it’s share of scary rides, too.

It even has a wildlife area with tigers which we ran out of time to explore.

I’m not saying it doesn’t have a backstory, but it seems to have learnt some big lessons and is a really fun place with a fairly large dusting of (in my book, anyway) essential pixie dust magic.

And that’s it for amusement parks for this adventure. Other quests await us today.

We’re off down the beach; there’s whispers of pancake eating.
