The prizegiving went on a bit last night so that, by the time we’d dabbed away the tears (some overspill from dropping the dogs off),

walked back to Casa Kimberley where we’d left the car, and drove into the City Campus it was 11. Showers, last minute packing, bed and it felt like the alarm woke us after only moments. It was in fact set for 02.30; that 6am take off is a killer.

But even though we’re, not one of us, Lady Gaga nor are we clutching tickets for her show tonight,

Melbourne made us feel very welcome and very pleased we had decided to include a little adventure stop over in the itinerary.
Today we’ve walked way too far after not nearly enough sleep

The Reading Room at the State Library

The Royal Exhibition Building, built to host the 1880-81 Royal Melbourne Exhibition, it now has UNESCO World Heritage list status

and are now, for the most, sleeping off our sore legs and Vapiano pasta lunch (because we vowed we’d be back).
Folk are saying we’ll likely be able to catch some of tonight’s concert at Marvel Stadium. I doubt I’ll be awake to catch a note.

You don’t mess around when you travel, do you? Tramping around Melbourne in 30 degree heat after a 2.30am start to the day – amazing! I hope you ate lots of ice cream or sorbet.
We were all aware of the clock ticking and wasting a day and it didn’t really feel that warm with all the trees and green spaces. It was nice to sit down, though.
I hope you got a good night’s sleep.
I closed my eyes, seemingly moments later it was morning!
