BSP #84 – Paddock Prep

Today was spent on all manner of last minute paddock prep.

Mowing back the barley grass to protect the goat’s ears and toes from it’s nasty barbs

Zapping the sheep to discourage flystrike in our absence

Relocating the hayfeeder, just in case the sheep get extra snacky

The nettles are chopped back in the hen run, the paddock’s been edged, the herb garden has had it’s rudimentary early Summer tidy, and the guinea pig fenceline checked and secured (April is a great one for wandering out and forgetting how she did it).

I reckon we must be pretty much ready to go.

  1. So exciting when you’re down to last minute stuff! And stressful…always thinking of one more thing….but I’m sure things will be fine while you are away, and once you’re launched and off home turf, you’ll be facing forward and thinking of other things.

    • I tend to get a bit panicky about forgetting something or everything that needs to be done before departure but I know, the moment we’re taxiing down the runway all that panic will disappear to be replaced with a nagging feeling of embarrassment at “doing it again”

  2. Yay!! Everything looks very tidy indeed and I’m glad to see that the animals won’t be forgotten by Father Christmas. I am sure they appreciate the little stockings you have provided.
