Farm Girl got into her school uniform this morning for the penultimate time; today she had her last exam.
Physics.

Then there’s just Prize Giving to go and the blue skort and blouse look will be a thing of the past. Just in the nick of time in the case of her school shoes which are only holding together by a massive dollop of grace.
She came home with mixed emotions but we’re not ones to dwell on the what-ifs. The job has now been done.
This morning, when I headed into the paddock after dropping her off, as well as two magpies for joy there were these guys:

a pair of Pūtangitangi/Paradise Shelducks.
They wandered around snacking on whatever took their fancy, talking to each other all the while.
“Hee Haw; hee haw.”
If I was one for signs, I’d be smiling.

Hope the NCEAs went well!
She’s decreed they should not be spoken of again until 15 January but she also stated she’d “left it all on the table” for each exam. That’s positive…right🙃
Waiting for results is a nervous business, but you can only do what you can do.
That phrase has been repeated mantra-like in our house recently. You can only do what you can do.
Congratulations to Farm Girl in getting through it all and in not having to wear a school uniform ever again!
It feels like a very big deal from where we all are right now.
Fancy having to dress up for physics! As for the Shelducks and Magpies – simple pleasures!
The magpies nest in our trees. People really loathe them but ours have never hassled us or our animals . The shelducks are less regular visitors.
