BSP #64 – Hotel Urban Homestead

Once a year, during the long Show Weekend (celebrating the anniversary of our province) Halswell Miniature Trains holds their Event Weekend. The railway runs the entire weekend rather than just Sunday afternoons and, as is his tradition, The Farmer is not seen by family for the duration. That is unless we haul ourselves down to Halswell Miniature Trains which…well lets just say miniature trains are kind of like coriander or seafood or Ed Sheeran; you either love them or…don’t.

Now, Halswell is quite the *ahem* haul from Darfield but only 20 minutes from the City Campus so today I am in town changing sheets, checking supplies, and generally making the place welcoming for someone who has been riding the rails, albeit of a reduced gauge, all the hours God sends.

It wasn’t that arduous a task and does mean I have a little quiet time to work on the family tree. I call that fair.
