BSP #26 – Monday, Monday

I respectfully disagree with The Mamas and The Papas; on The Homestead, Monday is utterly trustworthy. I would even go so far as to say predictable. Today is a perfect case in point, starting with an after-chores meander around the garden where everything, even the weeds, are looking pretty after the weekend’s rain.

Then it’s on with the usual Monday stuff: housework and prep for the week ahead, baking and ironing and appointment making.

Washing out and onto the next door task

broken in the middle by bakery lunch at Casa Kimberley

so you needn’t look so despondent, Colin and Shirley

The Bean Counter, in a messenger back-and-forth about one of those aforementioned appointments, pointed out that today, eight years ago, we should have been in Norfolk but were instead cooling our heels at the Roadchef Norton Canes with a dead rental vehicle and no one picking up the phone at Hertz.

It was still fun. Having a break from routine always is.

In 59 days we’re off on another routine break. We’ve plenty to celebrate: end of school, 30th birthdays, another hard won qualification, and The Bean Counter turns 60. That’s the same age as our chosen destination; after madness put paid to our first choice, that is. Any ideas where we’re heading (hint: not the Cook Islands).

Can’t wait! But for now I need to get on the end of the vacuum cleaner…

  1. Your place is so lovely with rain and spring green. Also, what a wonderful family picture. Great to see all your shining faces. No idea where you will be heading. Looking forward to finding out.
