Once a week, usually on a Monday but not (like this week) exclusively, we load up the car and head to Casa Kimberley.

Sometimes it’s just these two and I,

but this week, being school holidays, we have company.
After a quick stop at Darfield Bakery for supplies, we then swing past The Resident Engineer’s place of employment to squeeze in two more passengers. Yes, two; Cousin Lucas is all grown up now and puts his Engineering degree to work alongside the Homestead engineer.

Then it’s time for pies (chicken, bacon and cheese this week), sweet treat ,coffee and more conversation than is evident in the above photo.
It’s a nice little fledgling tradition.

A lovely tradition!
I was so pleased that everyone was open to it as I was feeling a little melancholic, although delighted for them, on the tinyhousers move off-Homestead
Setting up a new tradition is very satisfying. Well done.
Theres something very reassuring in traditions and I have always been a little envious of families that have long standing ones
