For the past four and a bit years, Farm Girl has had a goal in mind. A hair goal.
With the styling, stylish help of Holly the The Hairdresser, she’s been growing her hair for Shave for a Cure – raising money for people living with blood cancer –ย and this year, just as Holly predicted, she got there..

In fact, she overshot the length required to make it viable for wig making.ย

That our girl who doesn’t relish the limelight was happy to sit on a stage and have her ponytail hacked off by another student reminded us how bloodyminded she can be when she believes in something. And after a week or so of haphazard styling (tidied up by a teacher with a straight eye), last night Holly gave her a new ‘do.

Huge thanks to all who were approached and donated; between the four Darfield High students they raised over $3000.
So damn proud!

A hair raising experience? Perhaps that ought to be hair razing . . . I’ll get my coat.
I’ll cut you some slack; after all you were kind about the droning bees knees ๐
Go Farm Girl!
Shes getting used to her new look ๐
