It started life as a porch; salvaged timber fashioned together by our Princess (who’s a bit of a DIY Wiz) to keep the weather just a little bit further away from the sleepout entrance. Its presence was not required at Casa Kimberly – it’s a fine, well-sited-for-all-weather abode.
A few more salvaged bits (I just knew that shower door would come in handy one day) and lots of long nails and bindertwine (the Homestead go-to assembly method) and we present to you

our greenhouse.
I truly don’t have the words to convey how very happy this ramshackle project makes me.

This is so handy! We will be working on ours through fall and into winter. We have finally collected enough salvaged materials for our project. Salvage projects are so satisfying. What did you use for the roof?
Love a salvage project! For the roof we used the same material as the front window – we call it clearlight – kind of plasticy corrugated sheets.
Brilliant. Repurposing at its best.
Thank you! Its a project that makes me so happy.
Rightly.
