We’ve had a day of conquering tasks.
Mending the trug that arrived at the Homestead in two parts many years ago. I had intended to utilise it in the garden as per its job description but I reckon, after its revamp, it’s way too pretty for that.

I also made a batch of furniture cream in honour of the impending arrival of a new furniture item. Beeswax from the Homestead hive, some turpentine, and a splash of lavender oil; it makes wood gleam and the house smell of history which is, in my book, a good thing.

In the barn, The Engineer has a project of her own on the go. She’s turning a couple of our old doors (somehow we collect them) into bedheads. Its an exciting undertaking of the best sort; making something from nothing.

Then it was time to load up and hit the road. We’re overnighting at the City Campus in order to undertake a couple more tasks.
Assembling the new sofa bed

and picking up that new piece of furniture

As I knocked on the seller’s home door, I experienced a wave of déjà vu. I wasn’t imagining it. I’d actually been there a decade or so before…begrudgingly ramming an entire door, when I thought I’d just bought a couple of bakelight handles, into the back of my vehicle. The very door The Engineer began working on today.
What are the chances?
