Hay Ya!

It’s all done!

After a fair amount of “Will they, won’t they” and nail biting over rapidly diminishing feed stocks, last evening the cavalry rode into town…or the hay guys (yes, plural) turned up.

It’s been quite the week of anticipation as the paddock was cut on Monday; Id actually stopped being excited whenever  heavy machinery rumbled near our gate.To have our customary Frickin’ Wickend Soirée interrupted by the whirr, swish, clatter and clank of the gathering and baling process made our end of week bottle of Pinot Gris all the better.

By 11am we’d stowed the 56 bales (one for each week plus a few) and we were revelling in an Ant and the Grasshopper vibe.

Check us out, making hay while the sun shines!

  1. Congratulations that the long wait is over and you are secure in the knowledge you have the feed you need for the animals. Does the hay harvest mean you can now move the goats to the sheep paddock?
