Averting Caprine Chaos

The goats have neatened up the pig sty no end and last night it was made clear to me (in short, Amelia jumped the fence) that if they were not introduced to pastures new immediately-if-not-sooner we would be dealing with Caprine Chaos. The easy fix would be to let them out into the sheep paddock (the sheep are currently in the goat paddock…its complicated but I promise there’s method to our madness) which is currently one big goat buffet (we’re talking an upmarket one, here) but the hay guy, who accesses the back paddock through the sheep one, could turn up at any moment and goats can get a bit headless-chickeny when presented with the unexpected.

So, after an early evening confab, it was decided: they take up temporary residence in the duck enclosure but, as there’s no shelter in there, we were planning on returning them to the pigsty next door once they’d filled their bellies. They were in utter agreement once it began to lightly drizzle.

This morning, they trotted to the duck enclosure like happy cows to the milking shed but as for overnighting in the pigsty?

We’ve been told that’s not happening.
