This morning, we reached that horrible post-Christmas crisis point: no more sweet treats. There is not a candy cane, mince pie, or popping candy elf in the house; an intolerable situation when our systems have become so used to a little smackeral with our coffee of an evening.
Time to crank up the oven, peruse the garden and ponder the recipe tin.

Decision made: Vanilla Cake for afters, Crustless Quiche for lunchboxes, and Rhubarb Cake because it’s my favourite.

Baking Day is back on the calendar.

Oh, yum! They all look absolutely delicious.
They are! They are also egg heavy recipes which, at this time of the year when the girls are at peak production, is a very good thing 😊
Needs must!
The Last Sweetie of Christmas is always a poignant moment. Your replacement policy seems very sound.
I’ve recently discovered regularly replenished tins equals less hunger-driven treat runs to the supermarket. 😊
Hi, I don’t bake but any baked rhubarb items I come across on my wanderings especially at markets are snapped up! Rhubarb – yum!
I agree – rhubarb is yum!
