It’s that time again.

Nothing beats that first-of-the-season post-dinner stroll around the paddocks.

In the chook run everyone had already retired while Ed the guinea pig wondered whether we were going to reimburse him for the photo opportunity. “A carrot would be fitting.”

The goats and sheep were making the most of the last rays, the sheep from a respectful distance as Colin and Shirley were tagging along

but Babette the cat saw no point in walking when you can hitch a ride.

Yay for the first paddock stroll!

What lovely light! I love that time of year when everything is still lush and it’s not too hot yet, and there’s time after supper to enjoy an evening wander. We are in the opposite season of course, when eggs are muddy despite clean nest boxes and the dog’s favourite walking route requires gum boots for humans and the hated towel rub for dogs on return. Both have their merits I suppose, but after a dreary week. I could use the kind of day with long shadows in the evening.
It was such a treat but youre right about the merits of both. Fly season is just starting…ick!
It looks very tranquil. Ideal for an evening stroll.
It eas very pleasant
Yay for long summer evenings!
