BSP #34 – Nice One, Noel

I started these BSPs (Bite Sized Posts) for a couple of reasons. Firstly, simply to diarise our happenings; it is amazing how often we refer back to our posts. But also, and this is a bit deeper, to seek out the minutiae in life. You know, the whole stop and smell the roses/count your blessing deal. It’s working well

But then you have days like today. There’s not a lot to report. Another slice dug over in the garden, the bathrooms cleaned as per usual, quiche for lunch, Colin stole the empty baking tin off the bench when I wasn’t looking but looked so cute when I found him with it I laughed instead of delivering the scolding he deserved…are you yawning yet?

As I sipped my morning coffee (inside today as the day’s a bit dreary) I had good old DJ X playing on Spotify. As an aside, I grew up in the 60 and 70s when lyrics were often intelligible but always sung along to.  And as a result of this I have consequently found, with digital remastering, I have made some songwriters seem way smarter. Anyway, Oasis were playing. It was Little by Little , a song I have paid scant attention to in the past, but today I caught myself really listening. Noel Gallagher, a gent who I feel would have very little positive to say about or to me were we to ever meet, you made me smile today with this:

I’m going to use this next time I get something just a bit wrong. Yep, it happens.

Oh,

and the peonies are nearly out.

  1. A bit sized post is an easy thing to digest, so I am happy. It is also a good thing to point out that life is not always so exciting as some bloggers may make out in an effort to entice more clicks.

  2. I love peonies! I hope the weather is gentle enough for them. I keep a diary (though it’s been a bit hit and miss for the last few years) and most of my entries are mainly about the weather, what I cooked/heated up for our main meal of the day and what chores I got through. Every now and then something actually happens and I am pleased that I had a habit of recording things all ready in place. When I eventually joined the internet community, late as usual, I was amazed at what the lyrics to some of my favourite tunes were actually about! I realised I had been dancing along to some really weird songs!

    • Everyday the peonies are getting closer and closer so fingers crossed. My attempts at diary keeping are hit and miss; I’m hoping this BSP blog post idea will act as a substitute. As for the lyrics, I love words and good lyrics can make me overlook all manner of musical sins. Lazy lyrics however – theres no coming back from that in my book!
