I had anticipated that I would be a trifle pushed for time when producing this weeks missive and thus came up with a nifty idea: if I took a photo a day as I sat down for morning tea – hell, the blog would write itself.
Hmmm…
Like so many of my nifty ideas, it had definite flaws (the least being the photographer putting off her caffeine hit just that moment longer and remembering her plan) but, luckily, the Homestead chat was very photo heavy this week.
Anyway…
‘Twas Within the Month before Christmas on Union Homestead
(It ain’t gonna all rhyme, the blog writer said)

The Homestead halls are now duly decked, the tatty heirloom wreath is insitu, but a new light-up one has also been added. Maybe one day it, too, will become a Homestead heirloom.

Whilst we humans were busy yuletiding, it was business as usual for the menagerie. Left to right, Monday to Thursday 10 am-ish photos: hot sheep, wet Leonardo Rooster, Colin demonstrates how he copes with the hot, blustery days, and Leo leads a chicken pitch invasion on the newly mown, shade dappled front lawn.

At the Union Homestead Urban Outpost the tree is up, Colin approved when he, like Santa, came to town, and photographic evidence that The Engineer was right – the spare room would fit a double bed.

And finally, The Bean Counter enjoys his final week off for the year; yes, another Homestead birthday is being celebrated on Sunday. The impending birthday boy, pictured, has spent his week tidying the last of the overgrowth with his trusty weedeater/weedwacker gismo which unfortunately resulted in catastrophic duck waterer failure even duct tape couldn’t fix. Pah, the new one is better anyway!
Hope your week had a little more time to catch your breath. See you next week!

This is an excellent example of a free-flowing article!
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
The very handsome rooster was the pick of the bunch for me
He’s as lovely natured as he is pretty.
Hi, I hope the Birthday boy celebrates his special day in style after a week of being useful around the Homestead. I guess Farm Girl is now free of all study/exam commitments and is luxuriating in post exam freedom.
Yes, Farm Girl has finished her exams and has been enjoying a few sleep ins. We have a few plans for a special day for The Bean Counter
